Secure QR Maker & Reader Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Secure QR Maker & Reader
Effective Date: May 20, 2026
Introduction
Project Dead Channel LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Secure QR Maker & Reader mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
Our Commitment: We will never collect, track, or transmit your data. This is a core principle of our apps, not a temporary state. Any future change to this commitment would require a formal update to this Privacy
Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Secure QR Maker & Reader is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All processing — including QR code generation, encryption, decryption, and scanning — happens entirely on your device and never contacts any server.
QR Code Content You Create: When you generate a QR code, the content you enter — which may include URLs, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials, calendar events, messaging details, social media handles, cryptocurrency wallet addresses, or note text — is processed on your device to create the code. This content is not transmitted to us or any third party and is not stored remotely.
Scanned QR Code Content: When you scan a QR code, the camera captures the code and the App decodes its contents on your device to display a preview. Scanned content is processed locally and is not transmitted to us or any third party.
Secure Notes: The App can generate QR codes containing AES-256-CBC encrypted text protected by a passphrase you supply. Encryption and decryption are performed entirely on your device. Your passphrase is used only to encrypt or decrypt the note and is never stored, transmitted, or recoverable by us. If you lose the passphrase, the encrypted note cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
Logos and Saved Files: If you add a logo to a QR code, the App reads the image you select from your photo library to embed it in the code. Saved QR codes and any associated files remain on your device.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We want to be clear about what we do not collect: personal identification information (such as name, email address, or phone number) for our own use; location data; usage analytics or behavioral data; device identifiers for tracking purposes; account or login information (the App has no accounts and no login); and any data transmitted to external servers. We do not store any QR code content, scanned data, photos, or notes on our servers, because we do not operate servers that receive your data.
3. Device Permissions
To provide its features, the App requests the following permissions. Each is used only for the stated purpose and does not result in any data being transmitted to us or any third party:
Camera: Used solely to scan QR codes. Camera input is processed on your device in real time to decode QR codes. The App does not record, save, or transmit photos or video.
Photo Library (read): Used only when you choose to add a logo image to a QR code. The App accesses only the image you select.
Photo Library (write): Used only when you choose to save a generated QR code as a PNG image to your photo library or camera roll.
Wi-Fi Configuration (iOS): Used only when you choose to join a Wi-Fi network from a scanned Wi-Fi QR code, via the operating system's standard network configuration. The App does not store or transmit Wi-Fi
credentials.
4. Third-Party Services and Sharing
Secure QR Maker & Reader does not integrate with any third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or data collection tools. The App operates entirely offline and does not require an internet connection to generate, scan, encrypt, or decrypt QR codes.
Certain features let you hand content to other apps or services on your device, at your initiative. When you share a QR code through your device's share sheet, copy it to the clipboard, open a scanned URL, join a Wi-Fi network, or launch a messaging or social media link, that content leaves the App and is handled by the destination app or service. Once content leaves the App, it is governed by the privacy policy of that third party, not by this Privacy Policy. We have no involvement in or visibility into those actions.
Scanned QR codes may contain links or content created by others. The App displays warnings for certain risky content (such as non-secure HTTP links or potential phishing indicators), but you are responsible for
deciding whether to open or act on scanned content.
5. Data Storage and Security
All data you create or save in the App — including QR code content, customization settings, saved images, and logos — is stored locally on your device using your operating system's standard storage mechanisms and is protected by your device's security features. Because we do not collect or transmit any data, there is no risk of your information being compromised through our services.
Secure Notes are encrypted on your device using AES-256-CBC with a passphrase you supply. The strength of this protection depends on the strength and secrecy of your passphrase, which we never see or store.
6. Data Retention
All data created in the App remains on your device until you delete it within the App, delete the saved files, or uninstall the App. Because no data is transmitted to or stored by us, we do not retain any user data on our servers.
7. Children's Privacy
Secure QR Maker & Reader is suitable for users of all ages. Because we do not collect any personal information from any users, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations worldwide. Parents and guardians can allow their children to use the App without concern about data collection. Note that the App can generate and scan QR codes that link to external content; as with any tool that opens web links, parents and guardians may wish to supervise younger users.
8. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal data, traditional data subject rights — such as the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information — under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and similar privacy laws are not applicable to any information held by us, because we hold
no such information.
You may delete locally stored data at any time within the App, by deleting saved files, or by uninstalling the App from your device. If you have any questions about your privacy rights, you may contact us using the information below.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy, and the updated policy will be made available within the App. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
10. Your Consent
By using Secure QR Maker & Reader, you consent to this Privacy Policy.
11. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

13. App Store Compliance
This Privacy Policy is provided in compliance with Apple App Store and Google Play Store requirements. Secure QR Maker & Reader requests only the permissions necessary for its functionality — camera access for scanning, photo library access for adding logos and saving QR codes, and Wi-Fi configuration (iOS) for joining networks from scanned codes — and does not access any other device features or data. The App contains no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising.
